Gulf Crossing: Linking the Land, Birds and People of the Gulf of Mexico

The Gulf Coast Chapter of AACE International invites RICS members and guests to attend this interesting program with speaker Cecilia Riley.

Cecilia Riley is the Executive Director of the Gulf Coast Bird Observatory (GCBO) located in Lake Jackson, TX. A native Texan, biologist and avid bird watcher, Cecilia has committed her life’s work to avian research and natural history in both North America and Latin America. Cecilia's educational background includes a B.S. in Ecology from the University of Texas at Arlington and an MS in Zoology from the University of Arkansas. Prior to her position at the GCBO, Ms. Riley spent eight years at the UT Marine Science Institute as a Research Associate followed by two years at Texas Parks and Wildlife in Austin, where she served as the state coordinator for Texas Partners in Flight.

Currently, Cecilia's professional activities as well as this program are focused on the conservation issues associated with migratory birds and protection of critical habitat in the ecologically important Gulf coastal zone, from Florida to the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico and Cuba.
